Chem#4 OG from The Cali Connection perfectly represents the combination of selection and breeding work with SFV OGK F4 on one side, and luck with Chem#4 on the other, which made this cannabis genetics a legend that quickly crossed the borders of its native North America.
It all started during a Grateful Dead concert at the Deer Creek Amphitheater in Indiana, where a grower by the name of Joe Brand may have sold a bag of weed to another grower attending the concert, one Chemdog. The origins of this cannabis strain are obscure, but its excellent quality motivated Chemdog to germinate some of the 13 seeds found in the crop given by Joe Brand.
Each female obtained was interesting, but Chem#4, discovered after several attempts, is the most representative of the initial variety according to Joe, who together with Chemdog made the selection of this mother plant. This genetics shared by Chemdog quickly became very sought after for its numerous qualities and it is then that the work of hybridization was undertaken with this line, whose most popular descendant is none other than the famous OG Kush variety.
The Cali Connection proposes here a cross between the Chem#4 clone and a San Fernando Valley OG Kush F4 male, in order to bring lemony tones to Chem#4 and, at the same time, increase the yield of the SFV OG Kush.
Chem 4 OG will have a relatively compact growth, but will literally explode in flowering, where its internodes will quickly split: FIM pruning, supercropping and other optimization techniques will be highly recommended to keep the canopy homogen
