Until now Erdbeer has only been available as a seedling, but a feminised variety has now been developed. Compact growth like an Indica. Erdbeer won the Swiss Cannabis Outdoor Cup in 2000. The origins of Erdbeer are unclear, but it is known that the company Cannatech of Yverdon in Switzerland received it as a seedling from an unknown breeder. It was lost between 2005 and 2007. At this time "Jurabeeri" was introduced, an Erdbeer variant with larger but less dense buds. In contrast to the original strain, Erdbeer has an Indica-like appearance with a main bud – the original was more compact and bushy. Erdbeer is a typical outdoor variety, with good resistance to fungi and a high bud to leaf ratio. The proportions Indica/Sativa are 60/40 and the internodal spacing tends to be wide (like a Sativa). This variety exhibits homogeneous growth and can reach a height of between 1.2 and 1.6m. The harvesting time in the northern hemisphere is mid-September. The quality of the buds and the thick resin deposits are unique for an outdoor strain, and a MUST for all ambitious outdoor growers. The aroma of strawberries is strongest if harvested two weeks before the optimal date.
