The infamous original Papaya cut joined the Grateful Seeds library a few years ago through the Kalada Crew, who brought it back from their travels to the incredible hash making Cali Kosher facility in California. The amazing cut of the Papaya has been a staple in countless hash makers' stables for a few years thanks to its candy-like, fruity, terp profile with a hefty hint of putrid, rotten funk. Papaya also provides exceptional hash washing returns of around 5% fresh frozen in just 50 days meaning it's great washer strain; the exotic mix of candy papaya and rotten notes makes for an unbelievable flavour bomb.
Grateful Seeds decided to use this cut to cross with the Fresca Melon from Dying Breed Seeds which crosses the notorious clone only Zkittlez with the Watermelon Zkittlez. Fresca Melon came to the Grateful Seeds breeders by way of @lachanviere, and the strain was bred by Dying Breed Seeds. This cut of the Fresca Melon is a recent addition to the Grateful Seeds library. It combines an exotic tropical fruity flavour that mixes notes of ripe canteloupe green melon with extremely high resin quality and production. The resin traits come from the Watermelon Zkittlez lineage and significantly ramp up the Zkittlez washing / hashing potential, which will be great news to the countless fans of the Z terp profile in Resin/ rosin form.
The resulting progeny is a rapidly flowering plant that exhibits intense hybrid vigour and is coated in large resin heads that are filled with exotic terpenes. Papaya Cooler is a hash washers & flavour chasers' dream as Grateful Seeds focussed all their energy on ensuring that Papaya Cooler ticked the resin and terps boxes. Consequently, the bag appeal on the buds isn't the best, but the trade-off is an unbelievable return on mouthwatering resin heavy with terps. Papaya Cooler's terp profile typically expresses like pure Papaya that is far sweeter than the mother clone; the cross has removed the classic putrid rottenness accompanying the Papaya terp profile. Meanwhile, the Fresca Melon has added funky acidic notes that perfectly balance the sweetness.
